LANGEBAAN, SHARK BAY

Shark Bay is idyllic with knee deep, extremely flat water. This makes an ideal practice ground for kite surfers at all levels. Located next to the West Coast National Park, makes this a truly astonishing kitesurf location.

Otherwise, Shark Bay is a amazing spot to learn to kitesurf. It has large flat water areas and has waist deep water. The water is warmer then it is on Main Beach or the more northern part of the lagoon. Shark Bay is called Shark Bay because of the huge amount of very tiny sand sharks. Because of the flat water, it makes an ideal breeding ground for the harmless sand sharks and rays. If you are lucky and the little shark is unlucky, you might step on one. It is the perfect location for beginner lessons, freeriding and freestyle kitesurfing.
